An Excursion into the History of Magnetic Resonance Imaging

In 2019 we celebrated the 35th anni­versary of EMRF's Mag­ne­tic Re­so­nance Text­book and the 30th anni­ver­sary of the Rinck­side columns. On this occa­sion we of­fer to all our friends and rea­ders a free (per­so­nal) off­print of the hi­story of MR imag­ing from the 12th edi­tion of the Text­book.

Originally developed in the laboratory of Nobel Prize winner Paul C. Lauterbur in the early 1980s, the 12th edition (2018|2020) of this standard textbook has been completely revised, updated, and new critical remarks and comments were added.

The author, Peter A. Rinck, is one of the pioneers of nuclear magnetic resonance in medicine and of magnetic resonance imaging.
